Mlb_wVsQ_400x400Following the news last week that Tyus Battle was decommitting from Michigan and opening up his recruitment, his father says the family is still “figuring things out.”

“Ty and I are not making any comments until we figure things out,” Gary Battle told Brendan Quinn of MLive.com.

Asked if the 6-foot-6 Battle was still considering Michigan, his father added, “If I knew [then] I could say but I truly don’t until I sit with fam and talk to Michigan.”

Battle took an official visit to Syracuse over the weekend.

He initially chose Michigan in May over Syracuse, Duke, Kentucky, Louisville and others. At that point, many observers expected him to pick Duke.

Meantime, as first reported by SNY.tv., Battle won’t finish his high school career at Gill St. Bernard’s next season and will instead transfer high schools. St. Joe’s-Metuchen, which produced projected No. 1 NBA Draft pick Karl-Anthony Towns, is close to the Battles’ home, and Khalif Battle, Tyus’ 6-2 younger brother, will be a freshman next year.
