NBA Draft season is about to start picking up as two projected first-round picks are foregoing the rest of their college careers.

Texas freshman Myles Turner announced in the YouTube video above on Monday morning that he will enter the 2015 NBA Draft after one season in Austin. DraftExpress currently has him slated as the No. 12 overall pick after he averaged 10.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. Turner’s announcement comes the day after the Longhorns and head coach Rick Barnes agreed to part ways.

“My name is Myles Turner, UT alum, and I’ve decided to forgo my education and enter my name in the 2015 NBA Draft,” Turner said in the YouTube video.

“A lot to like, he has lots of NBA-ready skills,” one NBA scout told SNY.tv. “He can protect the rim, he can defend 4’s and 5’s. On offense, he has perimeter ability with a nice mid-range jumper and loves the pick-and-pop.”

Also Monday, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reported that NCAA Tournament darling R.J. Hunter will enter the NBA Draft. The junior guard saw his name rise to national prominence with a sensational Round of 64 performance against Baylor. Hunter is slotted at No. 25 by DraftExpress.
