Villanova added to its bright future on Friday by securing a verbal pledge from 2015 shooting guard Donte Divincenzo.

“COMMITTED TO BE A VILLANOVA WILDCAT !” he Tweeted.

A 6-foot-4 shooting guard out of the Wilmington (Del.) Salesianum School, Divincenzo is ranked No. 78 in the Class of 2015 by Rivals.

“He’s a very athletic guard who gets to the basket and can finish with a dunk or tough layup,” Team Final coach Rob Brown told SNY.tv.

“He’s a combo guard right now but can play any perimeter spot once he gets to Nova.”

Divincenzo also considered Syracuse, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, Pittsburgh and Florida.

He joins 6-9 Pitman (N.J.) forward Tim Delaney in Jay Wright’s recruiting class for 2015. The Wildcats also have 2014 shooting guard Phil Booth and small forward Mikal Bridges locked up.

The Divincenzo commitment was previously reported by Alex Kline.
