Jabari Bird will announce his college choice Wednesday and, according to various online reports, is expected to pick Cal.

The 6-foot-6 Salesian High star visited Cal over Labor Day weekend and then cancelled his remaining visits to Pac-12 schools Washington, Oregon and Colorado.

“Pretty much everybody has a general idea where I’m going,” Bird told the Mercury News Tuesday night. “They’d probably be right.”

Bird had previously told SNY.tv he might consider playing college ball alongside Oakland Soldiers teammate Aaron Gordon, who is considering Washington, Arizona and Kentucky, among others.

Bird averaged 18.7 points and 4.8 last season in leading Salesian to the Division IV state title.
