Virginia Tech transfer Dorian Finney-Smith has committed to Florida, sources told SNY.tv.

The 6-foot-8 Portsmouth, Va., native also considered Iowa State, Marquette and Texas.

Finney-Smith, who will visit Florida beginning Thursday, is a nice frontcourt addition for the Gators after they missed out on Findlay Prep forward Anthony Bennett and former Virginia Tech commit Montrezl Harrell.

He will have three years of eligibility left after sitting out the 2012-13 season.

An ACC all-freshman team member in 2012, Finney-Smith averaged 6.3 points and 7.0 rebounds as a freshman. He started 30 of 33 games.

He opted to transfer after coach Seth Greenberg was fired.
