Western Kentucky freshman guard Derrick Gordon will transfer, according to WKUHerald.com.

Gordon, who starred alongside Kentucky freshman Michael Kidd-Gilchrist at Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick, wants to move closer to his home in Plainfield, N.J., the paper reported.

Gordon is considering Dayton, Seton Hall, Penn State and Virginia Tech, St. Patrick coach Chris Chavannes told SNY.tv.

Gordon averaged 11.8 points and 6.7 rebounds and earned third-team All-Sun Belt honors this past season.

He helped the Hilltoppers win the Sun Belt Conference tournament and reach the NCAAs, where they lost to Kidd-Gilchrist and eventual champ Kentucky in the second round.
