DeAndre Bembry, one of the top small forwards in the Class of 2013 out of Elizabeth (N.J.) St. Patrick, will be contributing periodically to ZAGSBLOG during his junior season. Here’s his first entry:

My name is DeAndre Bembry and I go to St.Patrick High School in Elizabeth, N.J.

I am a 6-foot-6, 195 pound transfer from North Carolina from a school called Rocky River. The school was brand new and so was the team.

I started at the three as a sophomore playing varsity, and I averaged 17 points, 9.2 rebounds and three blocks.

I came to St.Patrick looking for a bunch of talent to play with and to play against and that’s what I got.

Our season has started and now we are 3-2. The two games we lost should have been wins but we are learning, so that will smooth out as the season goes on.

I am a very coachable player and an outgoing person but when I’m on the court I’m a very serious person.

I am getting recruited by Pitt, Auburn, Villanova, Miami, Arkansas, VCU, Penn St., Virginia Tech, UCF, South Carolina, Boston University, Seton Hall and more.

My recruitment is going pretty well right about now. I haven’t taken any unofficial visits yet because I’m just focusing on school and my St. Pat Celtics right about now.
