  • New York All-Star Team Selected

    The following players were selected as part of a New York City All-Star team that will travel to Turkey Aug. 28-Sept. 3 to play other youth national teams in conjunction with the FIBA World Championship.

    All of the players will also compete this weekend in the Battle of the Boroughs and then play a Chinese youth team on Friday night at Rucker Park.

    *Sidiki Johnson, Oak Hill

    Jermaine Saunders, Rice

    Daniel Dingle, St. Raymond’s

    Corey Edwards, Christ the King

    Jevon Thomas, St. Benedict’s

    Kamari Murphy, Lincoln

    *Due to School obligations Johnson will only play in the game vs China but will not travel with the team to Turkey.

    Friday — Brooklyn vs. The Bronx, 3-5; Harlem vs. Queens, 5-7; New York All-Stars-China, 7:10-8:25, Rucker Park

    Saturday — New York vs. New York final, 4:45-6, Rucker Park
