Trey McGowens, the 6-foot-4 Class of 2019 combo guard from Hargrave Military Academy (VA), is piling up the scholarship offers this fall.

Tennessee and Seton Hall became the latest schools to offer McGowens following his strong performance this past weekend at the National Prep Showcase.

St. John’s, TCU, Clemson and N.C. State also offered McGowens in the last month as well.

“With Trey’s work ethic and willingness to improve he has a tremendous upside,” Hargrave coach Lee Martin said. “He is an explosive athlete who is shooting the ball tremendously and running our team well. There’s no doubt his best basketball is ahead of him.”

McGowens took his first official visit to Clemson Nov. 10-12 and the Tigers want him to enroll in college for 2018-19.

“Clemson has been on me every day; they want me to go 2018,” he told Rivals.com. “I am still thinking about that but I will probably make that decision later now.”

Next up he will visit Wake Forest and South Carolina unofficially Nov. 24 and 25.

“Wake Forest has been hitting me, Coach [Kevin] Keatts from N.C. State was here to see me [Friday] and St. John’s came to see me today,” he told Rivals. “Kansas State is on me hard, too.”

Though he has options of going to college in 2018 or ’19, Martin expects him to remain in the 2019 class.

“He will more than likely stay in the ‘19 class because of his age,” Martin told ZAGSBLOG. “He just turned 17.”
