SUWANEE, Ga.– The best scorer on the Nike EYBL circuit, Collin Sexton, made a name for himself here, averaging 34.2 points per game over the holiday weekend.

The best of the best have offered the 6-foot-2 point guard out of Mableton (Ga.) Pebblebrook, with a select few pushing ahead of the rest.

“Arizona, Kansas, Texas, Alabama, Florida and Oklahoma State for sure are all working hardest right now,” Sexton said. “They’re telling me that I can come in and be an impact at a program right away. They’re saying that I can learn and play. Nothing is guaranteed, you have to come in and work hard.”

Sexton said he wants to take two unofficial visits next month, but the scheduling might be a bit hard.

“I’m going to try to go to Arizona and Texas A&M in June,” Sexton said. “It’s going to be hard because I have Team USA (U17) team camp coming. I’m going to try to make the visits happen, but it’s going to be tough.”

Arizona has four players projected to be taken in the first round in the 2017 NBA Draft by NBADraft.net in Kobi Simmons, Ray Smith, Terrance Ferguson and Allonzo Trier, so the possibility is there for Sexton to immediately play in Tuscon.

Sexton said that he hasn’t thought through his schedule yet outside of June for unofficial visits, but he does have a bit of an idea of what he’d like to do.

“I know that I want to take unofficial visits to Iowa State and Cal,” Sexton said. “A lot of different schools really.”

Despite not having a schedule, Sexton plans to cut his list this summer.

“I’m going to drop my list to 10 schools around Peach Jam depending on if we make it,” Sexton said. “Then in August, I’m going to drop it to 5, so I can get my official visits scheduled.”

Being selected to try out and possibly represent his country was something that Sexton said was incredibly important.

“It’s a great accomplishment for me just to be invited,” Sexton said. “If I make the team, that will be incredible as well, that would be really big. It would validate all of the hard work that I’ve put in.”
