Josh Freelove, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound guard from North Lauderdale, FL, has transferred to Buffalo from Alabama State and Buffalo will file a waiver so that he can play immediately.

Alabama State has APR issues, which could translate into Freelove getting a waiver.

“Coach [Bobby] Hurley being the head coach was the biggest reason I decided to go with Buffalo because of his knowledge of the game and being a guard coach,” Freelove told SNY.tv.

“He will have my best interest and can develop my game for the next level. I will bring my ability to score and will be aggressive on defense.”

Freelove averaged 13.6 points as a junior last season.

He joins freshman shooting guards Shannon Evans and Deyshonee Much and junior college power forward Justin Moss in Hurley’s first recruiting class.
