MiKyle McIntosh, a 6-foot-6 wing from Jackson (Ky.) 22 Feet Academy, will visit Illinois State on Wednesday.

McIntosh has already visited Miami and UCLA.

As for Illinois State, McIntosh is friends with freshman guard Kaza Keane, his former Grassroots Canada teammate.

“His upside is great,” 22 Feet Academy coach Ryan Schmidt recently told SNY.tv. “He’s out guarding guys on the perimeter. On the offensive side he handles it as well as a 6-1 or 6-2 guard. Body-wise, he’s a naturally a strong kid, he’s going to become even stronger.”

McIntosh is part of the new wave of Canadian players who have come to the U.S. for more exposure and a chance at a college scholarship.

“We’re moving up,” he said. “All the talent is not in America. It’s in Canada, too.”
