Derrick Williams, a 6-foot-7, 235-pound mountain masquerading as a man, hasn’t played a single high school basketball game all season.
When he suits up for St. Anthony of Jersey City for the first time on Monday, he will appear before a nationally televised audience on ESPNU.
Not a bad way to start the season.
“We’re really excited,” Williams said in a recent phone interview. “For me, it’s like even if I think about the game I get nervous. That first tipoff, I’ll be ready.”
