  • Cassara Succeeds Welsh at Hofstra

    Two days after Tim Welsh resigned at Hofstra in the wake of a DWI charge, the school named Mo Cassara its new head coach.

    Cassara, a former Welsh assistant, has agreed to a multi-year deal with the University.

    Cassara will keep assistants Steve DeMeo and Allen Griffin on staff and Kyle Steinway, who worked with DeMeo at Newberry College (S.C.), will become the Director of Basketball Operations, according to a source close to the program. That leaves one assistant coaching opening on staff.
