Following a summer spent expanding his all around game on significant stages and adding to the versatility that’s come to define his recent play with Nightrydas, Class of 2027 forward Jeremy Jenkins Jr. is currently on his official visit to Georgia Tech.
Jenkins, who re-opened his recruitment and has upcoming visits to Mississippi State (Sept. 18) and Houston (Sept. 26), appears to have shifted his gaze to a cureent core of schools as potential hardwood homes.
The South Florida has been impressed with Georgia Tech‘s style of play and the multi-layered role the staff anticipates for him.
“They just play fast, position-less basketball,” Jenkins said of Georgia Tech after taking in practice this morning.
“(Head) coach (Scott) Cross, he is showing me now on the visit that he is a worker. He is really hands on during workouts. It is a new staff here. They are basically envisioning me to come in and have a big role right away.”
Jenkins was also quick to cite how the staff does not seem hesitant in actively recruiting top-tier high school prospects.
He referenced the recent commitment the Yellow Jackets received from gritty New York City-bred guard Kamari Whyte, who has lofty expectations for his upcoming senior season at Blair Academy (NJ).
The 6-foot-9, 225-pound Jenkins previously arrived at a Top Ten: Indiana, Texas A & M, Georgia Tech, Florida State, Dayton, NC State, Washington, Xavier, West Virginia, and Virginia Tech.
He decided to re-open his options and received an offer from Houston instantly.
“Georgia Tech, Houston, Mississippi State and there’s a few others (heavily involved) right now,” Jenkins said.
“I’ve got some time. For me, it is really about picking the program that allows me to be versatile and play my game. I’ll do whatever it takes to win. My mentality is that you can put me on any roster across the country. I’m going to help them win games.”
Jenkins prepared himself for a rigorous role as an elder statesmen at Miami power Riviera Prep by becoming more vocal and exuding leadership qualities with Nightrydas.
A power player known for his proficient above and around the rim scoring, Jenkins took on a role similar to the one embraced by Karl Anthony Towns during the New York Knicks 2026 NBA title conquest.
Thus, he abruptly emerged into more of a facilitating big, seeing the entire floor and orchestrating offense.
“I think leadership is the main area where I grew as a player,” said Jenkins, who also heard from Washington and Xavier, among others, during Peach Jam.
