With a thin roster headed into the tail end of the summer, Gonzaga has a picked up a much-needed high-major transfer in the portal.
The Bulldogs landed Florida State transfer Chauncey Wiggins, On3’s Joe Tipton first reported on Thursday.
Wiggins, a 6-foot-10 forward from Atlanta, averaged 13.3 points and 3.9 rebounds per game in his fourth season of college for the Seminoles last season.
Across four seasons, three of which he spent at Clemson, Wiggins has appeared in 129 games in college, while’s he’s also gradually become a more skilled and dangerous offensive player as his career has progressed.
Entering the 2026-27 season, Mark Few’s squad has a thin roster, which was caused by late departures and the inability to add impact players this late in the transfer portal cycle.
Two of those departures include Mario Saint-Supery, who elected to pursue a professional career in Span and Jack Kayil, who was drafted by the New York Knicks with the 39th pick in the 2026 NBA Draft and ultimately signed with the reigning NBA champions.
Few is entering his 28th season as the head coach at Gonzaga, with his Bulldogs failing to reach the second weekend in back-to-backs seasons, which ended its historic streak of nine straight second weekends in 2025.
Aside from the addition of Wiggins, the Bulldogs have also landed commitments from four-star guard Luca Foster, four-star center Sam Funches, Saint Francis (PA) transfer Skylar Wicks, Arizona State transfer Massamba Diop and Houston transfer Isiah Harwell.
