A 6-foot-7 outside shooter with a bolt quick release and range, Declan Griffiths is starting to blossom as one of the country’s fastest rising recruits.
With his IQ, ability to capitalize on timely reads, and his long strides to the rim, Griffiths exuded confidence and poise in the exposure-heavy environment at NBA Top 100 camp.
Griffiths has now picked up offers from Ole Miss and Butler.
His versatile play and buckets in clusters scoring spurt-ability recently garnered Griffiths an offer from newly minted head coach Luke Murray and Boston College last month.
The new staff under Gerry McNamara at Syracuse was recently in to see the Class of 2027 prospect, who plays with the Middlesex Magic, on the live period.
The younger brother of current Temple senior guard Gavin Griffiths, Declan bringa a wow-factor with his extravagant vertical athleticism and knack for delivering momentum-bolstering dunks.
The NBPA Top 100 Camp has long been an environment capable of helping a breakout stock riser grow in stature and value on the high major market.
Last year’s performance from Middlesex Magic alum and Michigan-bound stretch four Quinn Costello helped a previously lesser heralded recruit flee from obscurity, as he drew a number of high major offers.
Of course, Costello followed up a sublime 13-for-27 3-point shooting performance during his NBA Top 100 Camp stay with up with a convincing performance at UAA nationals.
Ultimately, Costello chose Michigan over North Carolina, Michigan State, Purdue, Texas, and Minnesota.
Roughly one year later, Griffiths now finds himself on a sudden upward trajectory.
The Middlesex Magic has long been an AAU team which operates unlike a lot of AAU basketball factories, emphasizing team concepts and having practices multiple days each week.
The Magic boast another formidable rising prospect in 6-foot-9 Class of 2027 Philip Ndong.
Long, lanky and a reliable catch-and-stick presence from distance, Ndong has become a proficient finisher who levitates above the rim.
He was recently offered by Marquette and South Florida.
Ndong is primed for a significant senior season at the Newman School, where he is flushed into a prominent role helping fill some of the void left by the aforementioned Costello and incoming Illinois freshman Lucas Morillo.
