Villanova has signed 7-foot-3 Italian center Luigi Suigo, per release.
Suigo originally entered his name in the 2026 NBA Draft, but ultimately chose to withdraw and commit to play for Kevin Willard and the Wildcats.
Playing for BC Mega Basket in the ABA, Suigo averaged 7.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game in 26 appearances.
“We’re excited to welcome Luigi to Villanova and America,” said Willard in the release. “He is a player with exceptional skill, length and feel for the game. This is a great fit for our team.”
Villanova’s first game of the season will take place in Suigo’s homeland, when it takes on Notre Dame in Rome on Nov. 1.
In addition to Suigo, Villanova’s additions are Oregon transfer Kwame Evans Jr., Ohio State transfer Devin Royal, UIC transfer Elijah Crawford, Cornell transfer Jake Fiegen, St. Bonaventure transfer Darryl Simmons II and four-star guard Adam Oummidoch.
