Class of 2022 center Enoch Boakye has decommitted from Michigan State, Tipton Edits reported Monday.

Boakye told SI that his decommitment stems from the number of big men who will be Michigan State’s roster next season.

“It looks like they will have a lot of guys staying,” he said. “I want to go to a place where I have the opportunity to make an impact right away.”

The 6-foot-10, 240-pound center from George Harris (ON) Prep, originally committed to Michigan State on July 28, 2020.

Michigan State still has a commitment from consensus No. 1 prospect Emoni Bates, giving the Spartans the No. 3 ranked class in 2022, according to 247Sports.com.

Ranked by 247Sports.com as the No. 4 center and No. 20 overall prospect in the Class of 2022, Boakye held offers from UCLA, Arizona, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Western Kentucky, Denver, Houston and BYU, among others prior to his commitment.
