INDIANAPOLIS Jaylen Harrell, a four-star in the class of 2025 and No. 1 player out of Massachusetts, will push his collegiate decision from May 27th to May 28th, he told ZAGSBLOG after dropping 17 points in a 70-63 Elite Expressions AAU win over Strive for Greatness on Saturday.

The 6-foot-6 small forward will choose between Rutgers, Providence, Xavier and Virginia Tech among other Power 5 programs.

Rutgers head coach Steve Pikiell and Xavier head man Sean Miller were in attendance for Saturday’s game, along with the Providence staff.

Harrell will visit Xavier on Monday, where he has a great connection with the coaching staff.

Sean Miller brings a lot of people into the NBA,” he said. “He showed me a lot of love. Basically, the whole coaching staff was there for me. It’s [the visit] going to be a good trip, they’ve been recruiting me since Day 1.”

In terms of the Providence relationship, the Friars seem to sit in a good place with recent five-star commit Jamier Jones reaching out to Harrell.

“I talk to him, and I FaceTime him; that’s my guy,” he said. “Their fans are great.”

Finally, Rutgers and Pikiell remain at the top of the young forward’s mind 10 days before a commitment.

“They recruit me very hard,” he said. “Coach Pikes and the staff call me every day; they called me before this game; it’s really a great school and great program.”

He will also look to setup a visit with Virginia Tech before committing.

“Jaylen Harell brings the heart of 10 men where he plays,” Expressions Elite coach Ken Jackson said. “Any program or coach would love to have him. His shooting efficiency and being able to score the ball at all 3 levels separates him from most.”
