Five-star center Darius Wabbington has committed to Indiana, On3’s Joe Tipton first reported.
A 6-foot-11 senior at Sunnyslope HS (AZ), Wabbington chose the Hoosiers over Illinois, Arizona and North Carolina, among others.
Wabbington had previously visited Indiana, Illinois and Arizona and was scheduled to visit North Carolina on Oct. 30 but the Arizona native ultimately committed to play for Darian Devries and Indiana instead.
He’s credited a lot of his on-court success to his role model and father, Derek Washington, who played D-I basketball at Wyoming before playing semi-professionally in the Arizona area.
“He’s taught me a lot of what I know and has helped me become the player I want to be,” Wabbington said
Wabbington is Indiana’s third commit in the class of 2027, joining four-star guard Chase Branham and German center Felix Kiehlneker, rounding out the Hoosiers’ recruiting class.
He’s also rated as a five-star recruit and ranked as the No. 12 overall prospect in the country.
