Ohio State has landed a commitment from four-star forward Deng Ngor, On3’s Joe Tipton first reported on Thursday.
A 6-foot-8 forward from Canada, Ngor chose the Buckeyes over Washington, Florida and Duke.
Boasting a lengthy and athletic build, Ngor is one of the older players in the class of 2027, but still has tons of untapped potential.
This past summer, Ngor was one of the many top recruits to compete at the 2026 FIBA U18 AmeriCup, playing for his home nation of Canada. In five games for the Canadian national team, he averaged 10.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, shooting 38% from three-point range.
247Sports’ lead scout Adam Finkelstein noted that his motor and defensive energy are his best traits, serving as a great shot contester and a “deceptively switchable” defender.
Ngor is the latest highly-rated recruit to commit to Ohio State as head coach Jake Diebler enters a pivotal third season with the program.
Last offseason, Diebler also landed a commitment from top-ten recruit Anthony Thompson, who’s a freshman with the Buckeyes this season.
Ngor is Ohio State’s first commit in the class of 2027, with Ngor committing to the Buckeyes as the top-ranked player in Canada.
