Four-star forward Markus Kerr, who’s a member of the class of 2027, is down to five schools, On3’s Joe Tipton first reported.
The 6-foot-6 forward’s recruitment is now down to Maryland, Xavier, Tennessee, NC State and Baylor.
Kerr was originally a member of the class of 2026, before he ultimately decided to reclassify and enroll at Brewster Academy (NH) before the 2025-26 season.
Since that point, Kerr has remained in the class of 2027 but recently announced his plans to transfer to the Wellington Sports Academy (FL) for his upcoming senior season.
The native of Charlotte also spoke with ZAGSBLOG during the summer of 2025, where he talked about his playing style and the specific areas of his game he was working on at the time.
“I feel like my catch and shoot, my shooting in general and my on-ball defense is what I’ve been working on,” Kerr said. “And being way more of a leader. I feel like I’ve shown coaches that I can guard 1-4 and I feel like I can be more vocal. When they come see me in July, I can be way more vocal.”
Kerr hasn’t announced any plans to visit his five finalists but Xavier recently took over Oklahoma State as the current favorite in the sharpshooter’s recruitment.
Since reclassifying, Kerr is a rated as a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 70 overall prospect in the class of 2027, according to 247Sports.
