Class of 2027 Lewis Uvwo has become one of the nation’s stock-risers because of his shot-blocking skills.

Now hovering around the Top-20 mark, the Prolific Prep (FL) Center entered last weekend averaging 6.1 blocks while playing for Nightrydas on the EYBL circuit.

Possessing college-ready physicality and strength, the NBA Academy product was consistently altering the trajectory of shots with his 6-foot-11, 225-pound frame and 7-foot-7 wingspan.

While he played primarily on the second team last year, Uvwo will bring a defensive relentlessness to a Prolific Prep team which must fill the losses of McDonald’s All-Americans Caleb Holt (Arizona) and Bruce Branch (BYU) by comittee.

With his fluid mobility and knack for levitating above the rim, Uvwo showed promise as a lob finisher and a high efficiency threat with Nightrydas.

Among his most promising showings in Kansas City was a 15-point, 14-rebound and four blocks performance during a 69-65 victory over Team United.

Uvwo has steadily emerged into the top rebounding presence on the 17U circuit, as he is averaging 12.3 boards during a recent three-game slate.

He has drawn offers from a handful of high majors.

Indiana, Michigan, Kentucky, Seton Hall, Providence, Cal, Mississippi State, Texas, Florida, Miami, Alabama, Southern Cal, Illinois, and numerous others have all offered Uvwo, who has shown the length and intangibles and motor to become a transcendent talent at this level.

Thompson Narrows It Down To Four

Following a stellar junior season on a star spangled Link Academy national (MO) team alongside the likes of Carlos Medlock Jr. (Michigan State), Tajh Ariza (Oregon), Trent Perry (Kansas) and others, Class of 2027 guard Davion Thompson has whittled his list down to four.

Arkansas, Baylor, Vanderbilt and Michigan are the final four for the left handed, 6-foot-2 Top-25 point guard. He will officially make his decision on June 10th.

Thompson had been hearing from Indiana, Texas Tech, Kansas, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Illinois, NC State, and others during a recruitment which heightened this past season.

Thompson, a high level shot maker with a crafty finishing repertoire, recently visited Vanderbilt’s campus in Nashville, Tenn. on May 3rd.

Thompson also has a connection with the Vanderbilt staff as he played his best season of high school ball this past season under Chad Myers–who was recently hired as the Commodore program’s director of recruiting.

Thompson visited Arkansas, which has been a consistent presence in his recruitment, during the winter.

“The coaching staff really told me about how they produce so many pros,” said Thompson after his Arkansas visit.

“How they have produced so many players who wound up being drafted, but they all play together. They let their guards play with freedom. They’ve got some wings who can really play.”

Thompson has thrived with MeanStreets on the Nike EYBL circuit, averaging 21.7 points on 52 percent from 3-point range to go with 3.9 assists.
