Indiana has now landed a commitment from Maryland Eastern Shore transfer Justin Monden, LeagueReady first reported on Tuesday.
Monden, a 6-foot guard from Raleigh, will join the Hoosiers after playing one season for the Hawks and two seasons at Georgia Southwestern State (D-II).
During his high school career at Word of God Christian Academy (NC), Monden played for the program’s former head coach Thomas Carr, who is now on staff at Indiana after being hired by the Hoosiers in March.
In his junior season for the Hawks this year, Monden averaged 6.0 points and 1.6 assists per game for the team, in 32 appearances.
The incoming senior will head to Bloomington to provide point guard depth off the bench for head coach Darian DeVries, who’s entering his second season with the program.
Monden is Indiana’s tenth addition headed into next season and its seventh in this spring’s transfer portal cycle.
He joins a recruiting class consisting of four-star Vaughn Karvala, four-star Prince-Alexander Moody, four-star Trevor Manhertz, Villanova transfer Bryce Lindsay, Alabama transfer Aiden Sherrell, SMU transfer Samet Yigitoglu, Notre Dame transfer Markus Burton, Duke transfer Darren Harris and Georgia Tech transfer Jaeden Mustaf.
