Louisville keeps adding to its star-studded 2026 recruiting class
The Cardinals landed a commitment from four-star forward Boyuan Zhang, Veritas Prep coach George Zedan told ZAGSBLOG.
Zhang, a 6-foot-8 senior originally from China, spent his final season of high school playing for Veritas Academy (CA).
“Boyuan Zhang came to Veritas Academy via China and took the EYBL scholastic league by storm,” Zedan said. “He went from unranked to a Top-50 player nationally. The 6-8, 220-pound wing can do it from all three levels. He has a high IQ, is an elite competitor, a great teammate and was a joy to coach. He has a chance to play at Louisville and beyond.”
During the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup, while playing for Team China, Zhang averaged 14.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in seven games throughout the tournament.
With Zhang’s commitment, Louisville is now set to bring in nine additions headed into next season.
In addition to Zhang, the Cardinals have landed five-star Obinna Ekezie Jr., three-star Isaac Ellis, Kansas transfer Flory Bidunga, Oregon transfer Jackson Shelstad, Arkansas transfer Karter Knox, USC transfer Gabe Dynes, Dayton transfer De’Shayne Montgomery and Iowa transfer Alvaro Folgueiras.
According to 247Sports, Zhang is a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 77 overall prospect in the class of 2026.
