Michigan has landed 7-foot-2 Cincinnati transfer Moustapha Thiam, sources confirmed to ZAGSBLOG.
ESPN’s Shams Charania first reported Thiam’s commitment.
A native of Senegal, Thiem averaged 12.8 points and 7.1 rebounds per game in his only season at Cincinnati this past season.
Prior to his sophomore season at Cincinnati, Thiam spent his freshman year at UCF, appearing in 34 games for the Knights.
Fresh off its second national championship in program history, Michigan has now quickly built the top-ranked recruiting class in the country.
Thiam is Michigan’s ninth newcomer and officially gives the Wolverines the top-ranked recruiting class, according to 247Sports.
Michigan’s third transfer portal addition, he joins Tennessee transfer JP Estrella and LSU transfer Jalen Reed, to round out the Wolverines’ activity in this year’s portal so far.
