Kansas star and potential top-overall pick Darryn Peterson has officially declared for the 2026 NBA Draft, he announced on Instagram on Friday.
Peterson played in 24 games for the Jayhawks this season and averaged 20.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game, shooting over 38% from three.
The 6-foot-6 guard was in and out of the lineup throughout the season, battling various cramping and leg injuries for the Jayhawks.
Peterson was named to the Big 12 All-Freshman Team and was Second-Team All-Big 12 for the Jayhawks this season.
He led the Jayhawks to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, as they were eliminated by St. John’s in San Diego, in a game in which he tallied 21 points and four rebounds.
Peterson’s landing spot has differed based on different mock drafts, but it’s widely considered he’ll be selected with one of the first two picks, alongside BYU star forward AJ Dybantsa.
