West Virginia has landed a late addition to next season’s roster.

Amir Jenkins, a 6-foot-2 point guard out of Worcester Academy (MA) and the BABC Adidas 3SSB AAU program, has committed to the Mountaineers and will be reclassifying from the 2026 class to 2025, he told ZAGSBLOG.

Jenkins’ stock has risen this summer due to his play on the 3SSB circuit. He runs BABC’s offense and has led the program to an 8-0 record while averaging 14.1 points, 2.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists. He prides himself on the defensive end previously played with Team USA in the 2024 FIBA 3×3 tournament.

“When I was younger, I wasn’t really a skilled offensive player,” Jenkins previously said. “So I’d just guard the best players and just play defense. So I got to stay in front of the ball. Before every workout, one of our stretches is to do defensive slides. So I’d just say I really try to focus on defense if it’s not going my way on offense.”

Ross Hodge now has a freshman class consisting of Jenkins, four-star shooting guard Jayden Forsythe and three-star power forward DeAndre Thomas. The full roster for year one under Hodge can be found here.
