USA Basketball announces finalists for U19 National Team

USA Basketball announced its 18 finalists for next month’s FIBA U19 World Cup in Switzerland on Monday.
This list of players is headlined by some of the country’s most skilled prospects and includes names like A.J. Dybantsa, Chris Cenac Jr., Koa Peatand Tajh Ariza.
The roster is made of up mostly high school players, but includes several rising college sophomores in LJ Cason (Michigan), Tony Duckett (San Diego), Tyrone Riley IV (San Francisco), Morez Johnson (Michigan), Daniel Jacobsen (Purdue), Royce Parham (Marquette) and Tyler Tanner (Vanderbilt).
Arizona’s Tommy Lloyd will be the head coach of the team, with Grant McCasland (Texas Tech), Micah Shrewsberry (Notre Dame), Hubert Davis (North Carolina), Nate Oats (Alabama) and Mark Pope (Kentucky) all serving as his assistants. Team USA will open its tournament on June 28 against Cameroon at 10:45 am ET.
