Team USA announced the finalists for the 2025 men’s U16 basketball team for next month’s 2025 FIBA U16 Men’s AmeriCup in Juárez, Mexico.
The 18 finalists are all members of the classes of 2027 and 2028. To be eligible for the U16 men’s team, players must be born on or after January 1, 2009.
The list of finalists includes Nasir Anderson, Beckham Black, Mason Collins, Erick Dampier Jr., Derek Daniels, Cayden Daughtry, Colton Hiller, Jeremy Jenkins Jr., Bentley Lusakueno, Kameron Mercer, Boss Mhoon, Jordan Page, Brady Pettigrew,CJ Rosser, Shalen Sheppard, Marcus Spears Jr., Michai White and AJ Williams.
USA Basketball has also announced the team’s coaches. Scott Fitch (Fairport High School, NY) will serve as the head coach, with Frank Bennett (Chaminade College Prep, MO) and Nick LoGalbo (Lane Technical College Prep, IL), both serving as assistants.
The 2025 FIBA Men’s U16 AmeriCup will feature eight nations, with the top four countries earning a berth in 2026 FIBA U17 Men’s World Cup in Turkey. The rest of their group includes Mexico, Dominican Republic and Argentina. The Americans will begin play on June 2 against Mexico and will continue play the following two days against the Dominican Republic (June 3) and Argentina (June 4).
Team USA has a perfect 43-0 all-time record at this event.
