Zarique Nutter, a 6-foot-7, 210-pound forward from Newark (NJ), has committed to Fordham, he told ZAGSBLOG.

“I chose Fordham because I love the plan they have for me, the family vibe atmosphere,” Nutter said. “Coach Mike [Magpayo] pushes his players to the maximum ability and he also wins a lot of games. That’s all I want to do coming off a rough one last year.”

Last season at Georgia State, Nutter averaged 14.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists. He started in 13 of 29 games for the Panthers and shot 49.5% from the field.

Fordham will be Nutter’s third stop in his college career. He played his first two seasons of college basketball at Northern Illinois before transferring to Georgia State. Nutter has averaged 12+ points per game every season in college.

Nutter joins a large portal class at Fordham under new head coach Magpayo. The Rams have commits from Abass Bodija, Akira Jacobs, Christian Henry, Dejour Reaves, Jace Howard, Jack Whitbourn, Louis Lesmond and Rikus Schulte.
