Tennessee has added an international guard to its 2025 recruiting class.
French guard Clarence Massamba will play for the Volunteers next season, the team officially announced on Wednesday.
“We are happy to welcome Clarence and his family to the Tennessee basketball program,” Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes said. “Once we identified Clarence as a player of interest, we immediately became excited about his impressive upside.” “He is a long, athletic, versatile guard who can really attack in the open court. He is good with the ball in his hands, yet also possesses the ability to excel without it. Clarence has a nice feel for the game and an excellent basketball IQ. He is a hard-working, driven young man who plays with a chip on his shoulder and our fans will love seeing the way he competes.”
The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 9.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game for AC Monaco’s B team on 45% shooting from the floor.
The 19-year-old guard will join a recruiting class headlined by top-4 prospect Nate Ament.
Head coach Rick Barnes and the Volunteers went 12-6 in the SEC this season, leading up to an Elite 8 appearance where they were eliminated by Houston.
