Villanova coach Kevin Willard and his staff added a veteran guard via the portal as they continue to build their team.

Devin Askew, the 6-foot-3 guard from Sacramento and Long Beach State, committed to the Wildcats on Friday, per his agent Ryan Murphy.

Askew, 22, averaged 18.9 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.5 assists last season on 40% shooting from the field and 38% from deep.

This is his fifth school in six years after stops at Kentucky, Texas and Cal.

He joins Maryland transfer center Braden Pierce, Grand Canyon transfer center Duke Brennan, Temple transfer wing Zion Stanford and JMU transfer guard Bryce Lindsay.
