Florida has secured one of the most coveted guards in the transfer portal.

Princeton transfer Xaivian Lee will play for the newly-minted NCAA champions next season, he announced on his Instagram on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 16.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game for Princeton in his junior year. Xavian played all three seasons of his collegiate career for Princeton but will now be a key addition for Florida as they try to build off a championship season.

Lee chose the Gators over St. John’s after taking a visit to both schools last weekend, landing Florida one of the best point guards available in the transfer portal.

Florida sophomore guard Thomas Haugh played high school ball with Lee at Perkiomen (PA) School and was recruiting Lee to join him with the Gators, per the Gainesville Sun. Haugh led Perkiomen to their first state championship win in 2023, averaging 19 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists while adding 52 steals and 60 blocks that year. Lee finished up in 2022 at the school and did not play on that team.

Florida is losing its star guard in Walter Clayton Jr., as well as Alijah Martin and Will Richard.
