Purdue has secured a highly regarded international prospect.

Israeli prospect Omer Mayer will play for the Boilermakers next season, per ESPN.

“I’m excited and thankful for this opportunity,” Mayer said to ESPN on Wednesday. “I’ve competed at the highest levels in Israel and Europe, and can’t wait to help Purdue compete for a championship next season.”

The 6-foot-4 guard averaged 18.3 points, 6.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists in the FIBA U18 European Championship. He will be joining a program at Purdue that went 13-7 in the Big Ten and made it to a Sweet 16 matchup against Houston, where they lost in a one-possession game against the eventual runner-up.

The Boilmakers also secured the dominant big man out of South Dakota State, Oscar Cluff, as they look to continue their stretch of successful basketball.
