Naismith announces Boy’s High School Player of the Year semifinalists

The semifinalists for the Naismith Boy’s High School Player of the Year have been released. Here are the 10 names that made the cut:

• Darius Acuff Jr. — IMG Academy (FL)
• Nate Ament — Highland School (VA)
• Cameron Boozer — Christopher Columbus (FL)
• Mikel Brown Jr. — DME Academy (FL)
• Brayden Burries — Eleanor Roosevelt (CA)
• A.J. Dybantsa — Utah Prep
• Braylon Mullins — Greenfield-Central (IN)
• Koa Peat — Perry (AZ)
• Darryn Peterson — Prolific Prep (CA)
• Caleb Wilson — Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (GA)

Peterson and Dybantsa are fresh off some dazzling performances at the Grind Session in Atlanta. Peterson dropped 58 points including the game winner in a head-to-head contest vs. Dybantsa, who had 49 points, on Saturday. Dybantsa also scored 38 points and grabbed seven rebounds in a win vs. Iowa United on Sunday.

All 10 of these prospects were selected to play at the McDonald’s All-American game on April 1 in the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn.
