Jalen Reece, the No. 65 overall prospect in the 2025 class, has committed to LSU. He made the announcement on Instagram live.

Reece — the 6-foot, 175-pound point guard from Oak Ridge (FL) and the Florida Rebels Nike EYBL AAU program — chose LSU over his other finalists Cincinnati and Providence.

“The environment, the coaching staff, just the support has always been there,” Reece said of his decision live.

This summer, Reece shined on the EYBL circuit with the Florida Rebels. Specifically at Peach Jam, Reece contributed 11.6 points, 2.0 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. He added 16 steals across five contests.

The point guard becomes Matt McMahon and LSU’s third commit in the 2025 class, joining four-star guard Mazi Mosley and four-star big man Matthew Gilhool. The Tigers have added on to their No. 17-ranked class and remain in the mix for five-star big man Chris Cenac.

“We have a great relationship,” Reece said of the other commits. “We’ve always competed against each other for like two years now. I know them well. I think we fit great. I think we all complement each other’s games very well.”

Reece said during the announcement that the three commits are looking for Cenac to join them. He added he wants to be great and make LSU a basketball school again.

“They should expect a dog out of me,” Reece said. “I just want to win.”
