Class of 2026 three-star combo guard Navon Shabazz has committed to Fran McCaffery and Iowa, per his Instagram page.

Shabazz — the 6-foot-4, 170-pound guard from Iowa United Prep — is the cousin of rapper Juice WRLD.

“[Iowa] is close to home and I grew up around a lot of Hawkeye fans,” Shabazz said of his decision to On3.

The Hawkeyes now have their first commit in the 2026 class. Shabazz was on an unofficial visit this past weekend and Iowa was able to secure the talented guard.

At his previous high school, Assumption (IA), Shabazz won a state title last season. This year at Iowa United Prep, he will be playing for former Iowa guard Dean Oliver.
