Luke Ertel, a point guard out of the 2026 class, has committed to Purdue. He made the announcement on his X.com page.

Ertel — the 6-foot-1, 170-pound guard from Mount Vernon (IN) and the Indiana Elite Adidas 3SSB AAU program — will be staying home. Mount Vernon is about four hours southwest of Purdue’s campus in Indiana.

“Purdue was always one of my dream schools and getting on campus made me comfortable taking that final step,” Ertel said to On3. “I didn’t really see a point in waiting for anything else.”

Ertel plays quarterback as well for his high school and is in 247Sports’ football recruiting database.

This is Matt Painter’s first commit in the 2026 class.
