INDIANAPOLIS — Cam Ward, a four-star rising senior out of Largo (MD.) and Team Durant, will visit Marquette on June 25 and Penn State in August, he said postgame at the third Nike EYBL session in Indianapolis.

The 6-foot-6 wing posted 18 points, 2 assists and 2 rebounds on 7-for-12 shooting in an electric 80-77 comeback win over The Family to close out the action from Indianapolis on Sunday.

“I do whatever it takes to win,” he said. “I’m on the floor, I get every rebound, make shots for my team and help everyone come together to get big wins like this.”

Ward showed a nice ability to take defenders off the bounce, signaling a more polished offensive game.

“Everything has been off the dribble for me, as you’ve seen the past four games,” he said. “Everything is coming easy now and that’s just all from my teammates and my coaches.”

Ward has taken official visits to Notre Dame and Florida State so far, with Marquette and Penn State up next. USC and Oregon have been in contact as well but haven’t put out an offer yet. He’ll look to narrow schools down after AAU and potentially commit during the high school season.

He broke down those four schools:

Marquette: “Coach [Shaka] Smart, me and him match energy. That guy is crazy, and I’d love to play for him. With them, it’s family-oriented. They play hard and they win games, and that’s what I like to see.”

Penn State: “Coach [Mike] Rhoades has been mainly supportive through efverything. I know they just got there but I think that they can switch a lot of things around as far as their style, coming over from VCU. I think it’ll translate well.”

Notre Dame: “They’re very family oriented with [Micah] Shrewsberry. He was here today, he’s just trying to help the program. They’ve got a lot of incoming freshman and a lot of people returning from last year so I’m looking forward to them and see[ing] what he can create. They text me almost every week, they call me too and they came to my high school at least for times. He’s been recruiting me since he was at Penn State so it’s been an ongoing relationship for the past two years now.”

Florida State: “[I learned] that Leonard Hamilton can coach his ass off. Hamilton, that’s my guy. He can coach crazy, and he gets a lot of guys into the league like myself: tall, athletic and lanky. That’s the main thing I took from the visit.
