Class of 2025 wing Ryan Crotty exploded at the first EYBL live session, earning Breakout MVP honors and picking up three offers in the process.

The 6-foot-6 North Carolina native, who plays for Boo Williams AAU, averaged 22 points, 5 rebounds and 1.3 assists in Atlanta two weekends ago. He is heralded for his sharpshooting ability and overall explosive offensive game.

Crotty played his last season at a public school in North Carolina, but has since transferred to the Miller School (VA.) to face better competition as he does on the EYBL circuit.

Since playing at a higher level, he’s become more comfortable using off-ball screens, getting his feet set right and rebounding.

“At my public school I was used to just simple stuff like catch-and-shoot, now I’m coming off screens and doing all this new stuff,” he said. “I’m doing footwork I’ve never worked on and now I’m comfortable shooting my shot anywhere.”

“I think my rebounding [is underrated],” he concluded. “Even during the school year when I wasn’t scoring as much I would rebound it a lot. I think I can really attack the defensive glass and that’s the next step for me.”

Coming off of his big weekend, Crotty received offers from Virginia Tech, High Point, Old Dominion and Ohio.

Michigan, Pitt, Iowa, Georgia State and Furman have all reached out as well, among several others.

He broke down his offers to ZAGSBLOG:

Virginia Tech: “They’ve been talking to me for a while. Coach Mike Young just called me after the session and said we believe in you and we want you to be a Hokie.”

Old Dominion: “I talked to Old Dominion and Mike Jones on the phone today [Thursday]. We’re just trying to build a relationship since it’s new.”

High Point: “It was big to get a North Carolina offer, that meant a lot to me.”

“It’s still about building relationships and seeing what schools really want me,” Crotty concluded. “Who would really use me and the relationship is the biggest thing.”

Crotty has not taken any visits so far as he continues to prepare for live period sessions. He mentioned he’ll start planning trips around June/July.

He and Boo Williams AAU begin Live Session 4 on Friday at 5:30 p.m. against JL3 Elite (TX.) in Indianapolis.
