Cooper Flagg and his Montverde (FL) Academy teammates put on a show in their first game at the prestigious City of Palms Classic in Fort Myers, Fla. on Monday night.

With more than 40 NBA scouts credentialed for the event, the 6-foot-9 Flagg went for 22 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists as the Eagles dominated Cannon School (NC), 110-57.

Flagg, who reclassified to the Class of 2024 and committed to Duke over UConn in October, is the projected No. 1 pick in 2025. If that happens, he would be coach Kevin Boyle’s fourth No. 1 NBA Draft pick.

Six Montverde players reached double-figures, including uncommitted Class of 2024 big man Derik Queen, who had 19 points. LSU-bound guard Curtis Givens scored 13 and Indiana commit Liam McNeeley 10.

In the quarterfinals on Thursday, Montverde will play Kentucky-bound point guard Boogie Fland and White Plains (NY) Archbishop Stepinac. Fland on Monday went for 22 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals in an 80-54 win over Scarsdale.

On Tuesday night at City of Palms, future Rutgers teammates Dylan Harper of Don Bosco Prep and Ace Bailey of McEachern (Ga.) will go head-to-head in front of the NBA scouts.

Both are projected lottery picks in 2025, as is Long Island Lutheran guard V.J. Edgecombe, whose team plays Tuesday as well. Edgecombe is being courted by Kentucky, Duke, Baylor and the NBA G League, among others.
