  • Four-star forward Jalen Shelley names final 8

    Jalen Shelley, the 6-foot-9, 185-pound, 4-star small forward from Link Academy (MO), has named his final eight schools.

    Ranked the No. 17 small forward in the Class of 2024 by 247Sports.com, Shelley is down to Marquette, Ohio State, Arkansas, LSU, Houston, Colorado, Texas A&M and Louisvivlle.

    “I will be visiting all the schools in August and September,” he said.

    Said Link Academy coach Bill Armstrong: “alen Shelley’s versatility is what makes him a special player. In today’s game of positionless basketball he can play make and score on all three levels as well as guard multiple positions.”

    Shelley broke down his final eight for ZAGSBLOG:

    Marquette : “Marquette has a 4 guard 1 big type of offense and I’d be a perfect for their scheme with my size and ability to guard 1-4.”

    Ohio State: “Ohio State is a school that recently got into the picture, I grow up a fan of the program and that speaks for itself.”

    Arkansas: “I’ve been recruited by Arkansas for the past year now and I’ve built a good relationship with all the coaches. Their recent success with developing and putting guys in the NBA has really caught my eye.”

    LSU: “LSU is a program that really loves my game and have supported my throughout the whole year. I have a really good relationship with the Coaches.”

    Houston: “Houston was one of the schools that has been recruiting since my sophomore year and I really enjoy their system, as well as Coach [Kelvin] Sampson.”

    Colorado: “Colorado is a program that will develop me on the wing and can possibly play 1-4.”

    Texas A&M: “They are a school that will let me rock out and be myself. I recently have been developing a good relationship with the Coaches.”

    Louisville: “I love the coaching staff especially coach KP, his ability to develop guys and put them into the league is really important to me and I feel like he’s family.”
