NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — Jackson McAndrew, the 6-foot-9 Class of 2024 forward from Wayzata (MN) and the Howard Pulley EYBL team, drew a slew of Big Ten and other coaches to his games at Peach Jam.

A dead-eye long-distance shooter, McAndrew averaged 19.3 and 8.4 rebounds on the week, while shooting 46% from the field and 37% from deep. He made at least four 3-pointers in four games and shot 6-of-9 from deep in one contest.

McAndrew, who says he likes to try take “pieces” from Jayson Tatum, Kevin Durant and Lauri Markkanen, has already visited Creighton, Xavier, Notre Dame, Iowa and Wisconsin and said he’s talking with Stanford, Virginia Tech and Iowa about visits this summer.

He broke down some of his top suitors for ZAGSBLOG:

Notre Dame: “They just think I can be a really good fit in their system and be utilized very well and help me develop and be the best I can be.”

Xavier: “Same thing. Come in there, make a big impact from day one and be utilized very well in their system and their style of play.”

Creighton: “Creighton thinks that I’d also be a very good fit for their style of play and can help me develop my game and get as as I can get.”

Iowa: “They’ve talked to me a lot about coming in and being utilized very well. They play so fast that there’s going to be a lot of possessions in the game, a lot of points scored and also help me develop my game.”

Wisconsin: “I visited Wisconsin. They talked to me a lot about being utilized in their offense, being utilized in a lot of different ways and get me coming off a lot of screens and stuff like that and help me develop my game.”

He plans to cut his list “in July sometime” and then “narrow it down and go from there.”
