NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — Boogie Fland drew a slew of top-tier coaches including UConn’s Dan Hurley, North Carolina’s Hubert Davis, Kentucky’s John Calipari and Alabama’s Nate Oats to the PSA Cardinals-NJ Scholars game on Thursday at Peach Jam.

The 6-foot-2 Fland notched 12 points and 2 assists during a 63-59 victory over Billy Richmond and the Scholars that moved the PSA Cardinals to 3-1 this week.

“I felt like I played good, we won,” he said. “That’s what you want to come down here and do, you want to win.”

As far as recruiting, Fland has visited North Carolina, Michigan and Indiana and plans to set up another round of visits later this summer.

    He broke down several schools.

North Carolina (which had Hubert Davis and two assistants): “They want me at their school and they came and showed love. [The visit] was nice.”

Alabama: “They want me at their school, they want me to come visit. As soon as possible, I will try to go out there, coupled with some other visits. With the new rule coming out that you can take as many visits as you want, I’m going to try to schedule the ones that I want to schedule. I do have some coming up and I’ll definitely let you know.”

UConn: “Same thing, they want me at their school, they want me to come visit.”

Indiana: “[The visit] was good. I liked it out there, it was nice.”

Michigan: “Same thing, it was nice and cool out there. I liked it.”

St. John’s: “Right now I feel like [Rick] Pitino is trying to rebuild his team and trying to get it going with him just stepping into that role, so I’m not too much pressure on recruitment yet because he’s still trying to rebuild his team and that comes first.”
