West Virginia transfer center Jimmy Bell has committed to Mississippi State, per his Twitter page.

Bell, the 6-foot-10, 290-pound graduate transfer, has bounced around in college. He started his career in 2019-20 at SLU and played for the Bilikins freshman and sophomore year. Bell then attended Moberly Area Community College for the 2021-22 season before transferring to West Virginia last year.

Under coach Bob Huggins, Bell started all 34 games at center. He averaged 4.8 points and 5.2 rebounds last season while shooting 54.9% from the field. Now, Bell will take his talents to Mississippi State.

Bell is the first transfer portal addition for coach Chris Jans this offseason. The Bulldogs are looking to build on a 21-13 season, where they made the NCAA Tournament for the first time under Jans and for the first time since 2018-19. Mississippi State hasn’t won a NCAA Tournament game since 2008.
