Louisville transfer forward Jaelyn Withers has committed to Hubert Davis and the North Carolina Tar Heels, he announced via Twitter on Tuesday.

Withers, the 6-foot-9, 220-pound forward from Charlotte (NC), has spent the last four years at Louisville. Formerly, Withers was a top-125 four-star prospect in the class of 2019.

“I picked UNC because it’s another well respected program,” Withers said to ZAGSBLOG.com. “The situation and location is ideal for me as well.”

Last year, Withers started 29 of 32 games for Louisville while averaging 8.9 points and 5.3 rebounds in 25 minutes per game. He also shot 43.3% overall from the field and a team-high 41.7% from 3-point range. During his redshirt freshman campaign in 2020-21, Withers was honored on the ACC Freshman Team, posting 10.1 points per game while shooting over 55%.

North Carolina has already picked up Brown transfer guard Paxson Wojcik in the transfer portal, making Withers the Tar Heel’s second addition. UNC has lost six players to the portal this offseason, including Caleb Love and Puff Johnson.
