Class of 2023 four-star shooting guard Garwey Dual has decommited from Providence due to its change at head coach, per his Twitter page.

As of Monday afternoon, Ed Cooley has officially parted ways with the Providence program to become Georgetown’s next head coach. He will replace legend Patrick Ewing, who went 75-109 during his six years leading the Hoyas.

Dual, the 6-foot-5, 175-pound shooting guard, did not sign his national letter of intent with Providence. It isn’t guaranteed Dual will follow Cooley to Georgetown, 247Sports reported.

Previously, Dual considered Arizona State, Wisconsin, Butler, DePaul, NC State and Dayton. He still holds offers from those schools along with TCU, UAB, Fresno State and IUPUI.

Among the top-100 ranked players in the 2023 class, only Dual and Bronny James remain available, making Dual a coveted prospect. Dual, the No. 81 player in the class of 2023 — is known not just for his shot making — but his elite defensive capabilities. He will be heavily recruited.
