In the final year of the event, the Big 12 left the SEC with something to remember.

With the SEC-ACC Challenge replacing it next season, the Big 12 beat the SEC 7-3 on Saturday in the last SEC-Big 12 challenge.

The highlights of the day were Oklahoma’s 93-69 upset of No. 2 Alabama, West Virginia’s 80-77 win vs. No. 15 Auburn and No. 9 Kansas’s victory over Kentucky.

No. 5 Kansas State crushed Florida and No. 17 Baylor survived a battle with Arkansas, 67-64, but the other top Big 12 teams struggled.

Each of the SEC’s wins were over ranked Big 12 teams. No. 4 Tennessee beat Texas, Missouri dominated No. 12 Iowa State, 78-61, and Mississippi State upset No. 11 TCU, 81-74.

The Big 12 had the most ranked teams in the recent AP top 25 with six. The SEC had three, second behind the Big East’s four teams.

The victory in the event was the first for the Big 12 over the SEC since the 2018-19 season.
